Too Cute!

While one little Love Bird is sleeping his partner has jumped inside of the feeder to eat to his hearts content!

The Love Birds Are Back

Haven't seen these cuties for a while now. They came back yesterday and I think she's whispering sweet nothings in his ear!

Hello... Jack, can we talk?

I love your Breakfast Jacks. They are a staple in my diet. How can you just close my favorite eating place that was so conveniently placed just minutes from my house? It's gone...overnight...gone...signs and everything. What am I going to do now?

And just so you know, I am expecting an explanation!

Finally

I have been trying to get this done for so long and I finally got an Etsy opened and listed two things~ go check it out! And there's more to come.

I love these birds and wish I had more, but two was all there was and I snatched those up before anyone else. Not that anyone really looks for the things that I do.

Today I Lost A Friend

Denise has been my friend for at least the last 20 years. She gave my daughters and I a place to live when we didn't really have one. I always got home from work before she did and she would always come through the door laughing and saying "honey, I'm home". We did some crazy things together and will always make me laugh and kind of wonder "what were we thinking". I was with her when she met her husband Tim. Together they have two beautiful daughters. My heart goes out to them. They are both so young.

Denise suffered through these cancers for so long so I am happy her journey has ended and she can watch her family from Heaven and not be in pain. We went out dancing, to concerts, to rodeos and had tons of fun together. Dance in Heaven Denise. You are missed and loved!

Here's Mason Looking A Little Happier

He got a visit from The Avalanche mascot and an autograph! He looks like he feels pretty special. (and he is)

His drain tube has been removed and his last MRI came out good. His PICC Line is in so no more sticks. And he may go home tomorrow or Thursday! We are so grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers. He'll be making quite a few trips to Denver for follow up and will have a Home Health Care Nurse to come to the house and help out. But, he'll be home!

Update

Mason is back under General Anesthesia right now. They are placing a PICC Line and doing another MRI to figure out where to go from here I guess. His pediatrician at the Army Post sent Cristine an e-mail and did acknowledge that she diagnosed this before they even sent him to Denver. The wonders of google! Not that this is anything you would ever want to think your child would have we did talk about it after reading up on it. It is still not completely categorized as a "Potts Puffy Tumor" but it is the closed thing they can come up with since they have never seen it in someone so young.

Cristine says Mason is grumpy, and who could blame him. He's just not the snuggly little guy that she knows. He is basically mad at everyone and everything. He just wants to "go home!" Love you Cristine, Gale, Mason, and Dylan.

Mason...

Came through the surgery pretty well. The neurosurgeon was able to drain alot of what ever was causing the swelling. Now they have to culture it and find out exactly what "it" is. Then they will know exactly what to treat him with. After a quick phone call this morning Cristine says he ate a good dinner and is ready for breakfast! Food for a little boy is a good thing. They have left a tube in his head to continue draining "it". Maybe we should give "it" a name. Help me come up with something good! "It" is going to take at least 8 weeks to heal. I think 2 months qualifies for a name. You know what they say...when life gives you lemons! Thank you all so much for you kind thoughts and words. They mean so much!

My Little Grandson, Mason

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he undergoes surgery this afternoon for a tumor that was found very close to his brain. The doctors say they have never seen this in anyone younger than 13. Mason is only 4. If there is anything to be learned from this it is that you need to follow your gut and pursue every avenue when it comes to your medical treatment. Mason was dismissed a week ago at the Army Hospital in Colorado Springs and the Dr. told them that he is sure he fell and hit his head and they just didn't know about it. Yes, this is a rare tumor but you don't dismiss it as trauma when you have the symptoms Mason was having. Am I angry, you bet. Am I scared, more than anything.

Todays Harvest

This lettuce came out of the garden this morning. It's starting to get hot here and I read that it makes the lettuce bitter. Well, this is far from bitter! And there's enough for a nice salad this evening! I am so excited. Does that make me a garden nerd?

Our Orchid Tree

When we first moved into this house the orchid tree in the front yard was huge. The Peddler hated it because it completely blocked the house. So, in true Peddler fashion he cut it down. It was sad but it did really show the house much better and since the plan was to sell this house we had to go for the curb appeal. Long story short, the house didn't sell so we moved into it. And the orchid tree started to grow back. We have trimmed it and kept it a manageable size but it never bloomed. I figured we had shocked it too much when we practically ended it's life. This is the first year ever that it has bloomed! Look at how beautiful that flower is. And there are tons of buds on it. I guess we can thank mother nature for teaching us that here in Arizona things need more water than we think. Thank you rain, and mother nature!

Newborn Baby Footprints Are Very Important

It must appear as though we are torturing him but we really weren't. We would never do that! He reacts to a diaper change like this and unlike a dirty diaper these prints are keepers forever!

Good News!
Jayce is coming home today!

So here are a few more pictures from the hospital. And hopefully these will be the last ones from the hospital.

Here is Jayce in his little Bilibed. The lights come from underneath instead of above like they did when I had my kids.

Aunt Cristine getting some baby time in. This was before he was confined to the Bilibed.

And Papa Rick got some baby time in too!
And since I was behind the camera I'm going to have to wait to get some pictures from Cristine.

Can't wait to post some pictures of him at home!
