Priorities

Funny how they change

This little guy has still not been released to go home. I want to be here when he finally goes home with mom and dad. I want Aunt Cristine to be here too. But we all have to go home on Saturday.

Do you suppose we could make time stand still for just a few days?

Baby Jayce Update

Seems Jayce is having troubles with Jaundice so he hasn't been released from the hospital yet. Catie was discharged yesterday but is camped out at the hospital with her sister and the baby. I'm so glad they don't make her leave him and just come in for visits. He is eating good, sleeping good, and acting like a normal little guy. He's just a little yellow around the edges. They have him sleeping in a little bed with the lights underneath him. It's like a little velcro sleeping bag. It's a good thing it's warm because it is freezing in that room and he can't wear anything but a diaper and his baby lo-jack on his ankle! If he is sleeping on his tummy he has to wear a little mask over his eyes. A little beauty sleep mask for him! They are hoping the pediatrician releases him today since he was down to a 10 but if not, better to be safe than sorry!

One More Picture

I just had to post this picture. This was taken by Aunt Cristine and her super duper professional camera. Good shot!

We are so proud of Catie, she did such a great job. Daddy Mike was there, very supportive and loving. They will be home tomorrow. Can't wait!

Having trouble uploading pictures. Here's the only one that would load so far. Jayce (sounds like race) Curtis Arganda.

He Is Here
And he is adorable. Jayce Curtis arrived just two hours after we got to California. Perfect timing. Catie was a champ and delivered him like this was just all in a days work! Let's just say it took 19 minutes. That's what I call "getting it done"! Mom, Dad, and baby are just fine. Cristine made it in time all the way from Colorado too! It couldn't have worked out better. Pictures tomorrow I promise!

By This Time Tomorrow

We should have a new grand baby to hold! He's a little early but everything should be just fine. Can't wait. I'll post pictures asap!

Sunday's Random Thoughts

Our weather is absolutely beautiful today! This is probably my favorite part of this whole house, our backyard. Doesn't everyone have a fire hydrant in their backyard? You do if you're The Peddler! I just Buck would learn to use it instead of the new lawn. See the chiminea on the left side of the picture? We used it so much that a hole burned right through the bottom. Now it's sitting where Abi is buried and I'm going to plant flowers in it. Still miss that girl. The garden is just beyond the fire hydrant on the right.

Here's what is growing so far.

Squash

Spinach

Tomatoes

and Lettuce. Who knows if I'm doing this right. They say growing vegetables in Arizona is tricky and you learn from your mistakes so I'm sure I have plenty of learning to do!

The remodeling continues. This is the very front room of the house which we hardly use anymore. This used to be our living space when Dear Aunt Myrna was here. The wood floor is new along with the chairs. They were a great estate sale find this week! The blinds need to go. This room would be pretty much perfect if it wasn't for this...

Doesn't everyone have a bright red 1950's kitchen table and chairs in their living room? We do and it's got to go! What's with listing things on Craigslist just to have tons of phone calls and promises of coming to look at it and then not showing up? And it's not like we are asking an outrageous price for it either. We just want it gone. So if you're reading this and know of anyone whose kitchen is retro and red let us know!

And last...my favorite new obsession...making roses! It took some practice but I think I've got it down. Notice the squishy one on the left? Ha, that was the first one!

And don't you think the title of this post was entirely appropriate? How random was all of this!

Hope you're all having a great day!

Now That I've Got....

the Altered Art Attic blog up and running I've got time to include some daily random things on my first home!

This is one of the things The Peddler has been busy with. He custom built this garage door for a neighbor. They are completely redoing their house and saw these doors at Costco. The Peddler built them and installed for way less than half the price. They are doing the staining themselves. I think they're turning out really nice!

These two have been here most of the day. They are coming to the feeder that is closer to the house and letting me get really close now. They have such a unique chirp that I almost always know when they arrive. Or maybe they're letting me know that they want more food!

And last but not least, can I just say that in my next life I want to be Buck. Of course Buck with The Peddler and I as his owners. I couldn't find him around noon today and here he is taking a nap on my unmade bed. Such a tough life Mr. Buck!

The weather here this week has been amazing! 84 degrees today. I even put my whitey white legs out in some sun for a little bit. I don't think they've seen the sun for at least 5 years! So, if you are in the neighborhood you better put on some sunglasses lest you be blinded! LOL

Watch for it here.

We can't wait to get this new endeavor underway and we are working very hard on this. Let us know what you think!

What once was blue...

Is now green and built in. Just need to finish the trim and the paint. A few more touches and the kitchen should be done. One room down, lots more to go!

I almost forgot...

Along with remodeling comes swapping out furniture and this beauty definitely doesn't go with this house! Is anyone interested in a gorgeous 50's red Formica table with chrome legs? It has 5 chairs (1 has an issue) and a leaf. Except for the chair this is one of the nicest sets I have seen in a long time! The price is $350

Friday Photos

This is Mr. Merlin the hawk that has been hanging out and terrorizing my bird feeder. Luckily I think the Love Birds are too big for him. So far I have seen him only get one tiny bird. It was so sad, but I know the whole "circle of life" thing.

This sweet Love Bird visited for a long time this morning. I think he is getting more used to me and lets me come closer now!

This is what has been keeping me so busy! The more remodeling The Peddler does, the more painting I am doing. And trust me, I wasn't smiling the next day. Who knew painting involved so many dormant muscles!

This was this mornings estate sale find and it fit perfectly into what was our old, boring pantry. Of course, this means more painting, but I love it!

Look at the old wallpaper we found under many coats of paint when we took the old baseboards off. What year do you think it is Jennifer? She is my inhouse wallpaper professional.

This has become a new space that I have taken over. I love it because I can look right into the backyard through the new window The Peddler put in. This room is so nice and bright now!

And this is what I see when I look out of that window! The patio furniture was another estate sale find and it was just what we were looking for. It even has a swing that didn't show up in the picture.
Our weather is beautiful here. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
