Sunday's Random Thoughts

Our weather is absolutely beautiful today! This is probably my favorite part of this whole house, our backyard. Doesn't everyone have a fire hydrant in their backyard? You do if you're The Peddler! I just Buck would learn to use it instead of the new lawn. See the chiminea on the left side of the picture? We used it so much that a hole burned right through the bottom. Now it's sitting where Abi is buried and I'm going to plant flowers in it. Still miss that girl. The garden is just beyond the fire hydrant on the right.

Here's what is growing so far.

Squash

Spinach

Tomatoes

and Lettuce. Who knows if I'm doing this right. They say growing vegetables in Arizona is tricky and you learn from your mistakes so I'm sure I have plenty of learning to do!

The remodeling continues. This is the very front room of the house which we hardly use anymore. This used to be our living space when Dear Aunt Myrna was here. The wood floor is new along with the chairs. They were a great estate sale find this week! The blinds need to go. This room would be pretty much perfect if it wasn't for this...

Doesn't everyone have a bright red 1950's kitchen table and chairs in their living room? We do and it's got to go! What's with listing things on Craigslist just to have tons of phone calls and promises of coming to look at it and then not showing up? And it's not like we are asking an outrageous price for it either. We just want it gone. So if you're reading this and know of anyone whose kitchen is retro and red let us know!

And last...my favorite new obsession...making roses! It took some practice but I think I've got it down. Notice the squishy one on the left? Ha, that was the first one!

And don't you think the title of this post was entirely appropriate? How random was all of this!

Hope you're all having a great day!

Good morning Kim Buck and of course The Peddler. Love the yard, garden and roses. Wish I had a place for that table! Match perfect with my kitchen.

Love the chairs, love the roses, and the table and chairs are fab but yep--don't go with the chairs in the front room. So good to see you this past Friday! Keep us posted on new grandchild--:)

Yep. Gardening here is definitely hit and miss. Learn by trial and error. Your squash should be fine, regardless. It's like a weed. We have tomatoes, peppers and strawberries too. I'll let you know if we discover any new secrets!! Wish I had a place for the table, but lately we have been searching Craig's for a bigger boat. My pet peeve is that once an item is sold, they don't take down their ads!! Lots of wasted time there!! Good luck to you!! Hope to see you soon!!
