Raising Chickens class....
Was a yolk! Never found the place. Spent an hour driving around downtown flipping scary Phoenix and never found the place. It's a good thing The Peddler is understanding. Maybe I should just settle for a good chicken book and take it from there! Seriously, how hard can a few chickens be? Kristin? Anyone?

Dan is trying to get me to get rid of the chickens- I think he is trying to get Rick to take them- He just doesn't like cleaning up after them!
For a while we thought they had stopped laying eggs- but today while cleaning up in the yard we found 20+ eggs that they were hiding in a bush- so funny those chickens!!!
Seriously- you need to take some of our eggs- (fresh ones of course!)
Piece of cake really- I thought that I should get 6 because maybe a few would die- but they all made it but 1- (poor little chick- Ben ate him.)
They are easy!! Get you a book then order some chickies and get a bag of Chicken scratch from the feed store..Build them a funk hen house and your in bizness~
You can probably find all you need to know on the internet. Just google "how to raise chickens". I love Google! I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would want chicken poop in their yard though. I have awful memories of the chicken farm in our town when I was growing up. Stink doesn't begin to describe it.
If I could have animals other than dogs, I'd have sheep. They wouldn't do anything except eat grass, but I could at least look at them and pretend I was in England.
Kim,
Have you eaten fresh eggs? It was fun when I was a child to collect them from my grandmother's hen house for her---BUT I don't even like the taste of them now that I am no longer a young chic myself. They are strong!
Hey, but if you build a hen house you could use the extra space for visitors! Enjoy your loved ones visit.
I vote no on the chickens...but yes for sure on the house! Just coordinate with Justin & Liesl. They are going to put some of their stuff in the house for the weekend while their house is de-termited. Just tell them what rooms you want for sleeping. The basement is nice, carpet just got cleaned after we left and it's really soft.
Dang, can't beieve your chicken class was a bust! I'm sure you can do it without a class, they're easy!
p.s. have a blast with your company this weekend!
Did i mention we are extremely interested in getting us some chickens. Let me know when you get started and how it goes! Good luck!
Oh dear, what a disappointment. Dr. Casey just read something about chickens the other day in one of my magazines ~ possibly Mary Jane's Farm. Something about a really cool chicken coop. Right now, he's sticking with dirt farming. But I agree ~ how hard can they be?
