A few more days with the kids and grandkids. What a great time we have had. School, karate, guitar, batting cages, miniature golf, playing bingo ( 1953 Bingo, nothing electronic) every evening after dinner. We've chopped wood, had some snow, big fires in the fireplace, and great meals. What more could you ask for? Pictures soon!

I have a friend who would like to take the Monopoly class, BUT are you going to have DIRECTIONS?? what a concept.... for that kind of $$$, it seems so obvious... and yet.....

don't know how to ask questions on the store's blog. called the store, people were a bit curt... so trying this... tried before with little success... I guess you guys have tons of Snots dale business, so don't need more. must be nice.... would appreciate a reply.... somewhere... on the blog, etc.... have a nice day....

Vacuummamma,
I have read your comments and since you didn't leave any identifying information for me to respond to I would like to invite you to call me personally at the store or via e-mail at kim@mysticpaper.com

As far as written instructions for the Monopoly class it is impossible. That class cannot be made into a kit or taken by a beginner because it is so technique oriented. The teacher shows you "hands on" each technique including the hand sewn binding.

The comment about "not needing more business" due to having so much "Snots dale" business well, that's just silly!

Any future comments can be left on the Mystic Paper Blog just as you left them on my personal blog or you can call the store directly.

vacuummamma: You must be a novice to the altered art/mixed media art world. Did it make you feel better to leave that snarky comment and to leave it from a "dummy" blog? How grown up.

A lot of projects taught these days are directed to your creativity and ability to make it your own -- not an exact replica. Specific directions are not possible at times. Some techniques are taught "hands on" as directions would not be adequate where "showing you how" would be best. If this "concept" bothers you or your "friend", perhaps you are not ready to take a class that allows you to learn hands on techniques and to let your ideas and creativity flow.

Kim gave you a wonderful answer. Take her advice!

Kim, I thought your answer to Vacummamma was right on target. In my opinion there are two different types of classes. 1. A pattern is provided and the instructor walks the students through how-to-make the pattern. (I do alot of this in my sewing classes.) 2. A technique is presented and each student produces their own unique "creation" using the technique. There is no pattern.

Perhaps Vacumma is looking the first type class and not a technique class.

Looks like you had a great trip. I would say you deserved a nice "Get-a-Way" after the year you have had.
